Who runs the verification?
Fleetwire uses Stripe Identity — the same identity verification Stripe provides to banks and financial platforms. Fleetwire never stores raw ID images on its own servers; the verification is processed and secured by Stripe.
What does the renter have to do?
Nothing extra to install. During checkout they photograph the front and back of their license and take a short selfie on their phone. Most renters finish in under a minute and get an instant result.
Can I require verification on every booking?
Yes. You can make identity verification mandatory so a reservation cannot confirm until the renter passes — or leave it optional for trusted repeat guests. It's your call per your risk tolerance.
Does it work with international renters?
Stripe Identity supports government-issued IDs from a wide range of countries. For markets or document types it can't verify, the booking is flagged so you can follow up manually before pickup.
